Balayage

Balayage is a seamless highlighting technique, perfect for those looking for a natural easy to manage hair colour - it’s no wonder so many opt for this easy-going style. It’s low maintenance in terms of recolouring (no regular regrowth, or root coverage required) and ideal for adding interest and dimension.

+ - What to expect when you book in for balayage?

Your stylist will use a freehand painting and foiling technique, or a combination of both, depending on how natural or bright you wish to go. A gloss colour is then applied to customise your result to suit your skin tone and contour your hair colour We recommend a toner every 6 to 8 weeks to refresh your colour when you are coming in for a trim.

+ - What’s the difference between balayage and ombre?

Balayage is a colouring technique, whereas ombre is a style of colouring. Ombre is a gradient of colour going from dark at the roots and transitoning to light at the midlenghts and ends, placement is horizontal, resulting in more of a two tone look. Balayage is used when hair colour is painted on in a vertical placement to create highlights with a natural looking effect. Darker pieces can also be added though the ends to create dimension.
